Basketball- Provide a competitive atmosphere where athletes will improve overall player development through rigorous skills training, while teaching the importance of teamwork, discipline and dedication.

                Academics- Promote scholastic achievement and motivation by requiring a certain grade point average in order to participate in team functions. Frequent college visits, special guest lectures and overall academic awareness will be a provided.

            Personal Growth- Enhance the lives of young athletes by: forming a bond through mentoring, striving to boost athlete’s self-awareness, self-esteem, nutrition, drug-awareness, and building strong relationships.

     There are several programs involving sports that are solely focused on developing the motivation to do well and excel in that particular sport.  Few programs exist, however, that couple enhancing athletic ability with promoting strong academic excellence and personal growth. This organization/program is designed to both give these boys an outlet and exposure to excellent athletics, as well as to include the tools that will enable them to grow into outstanding young men and adults. This is our passion because as young boys we had the same tools when it came to athletic talent but we lacked the push and drive from others to be a better person and a better student.  We would like to show and teach these boys that it is not enough to ONLY succeed on the court; they have to succeed in the classroom as well as in life. With respect to disciplinary issues, no one will be let go from the team due to grades and mild aberrant behavior, instead they will not be allowed to participate in team events/functions. However, they will need to raise their grades or commit to a behavioral change in order to participate.  We feel the heterogeneous integration of boys from a variety of backgrounds will be beneficial for all participants since developing a respect and emphasis for academic achievement and personal growth knows no boundaries with respect to ones race or surrounding environment.
